Introducing Bush Food – Swagmans Tacos

An easy and fun way to introduce kids to Australian Native Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
250gm ground beef
250gm ground pork
250gm ground lamb
1 large yellow onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
7gm dried native basil
10gm swagmans salt
6 tablespoons tomato paste
1.5 cups water

Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. When it is shimmering, add the ground beef, pork and lamb, and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until the meat is browned.
Add the onion and garlic to the meat mixture and sauté, stirring occasionally, until the onions are translucent, about 7 to 10 minutes. Stir in the dried native basil and Swagmans Salt, tomato paste and water. Stir to combine and continue cooking over medium-low heat until the sauce has thickened, about 3-5 minutes
Serve warm over tortillas with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, cheese and red onions, or your other desired toppings.
